Egalitarian Leadership Style

The definition of egalitarian is the equality of degrees for every human being. Every human being has the same degree before God regardless of position, wealth, lineage, ethnicity, race, class, and so on, but because of the attitude of each individual.

Etymologically or according to language, the word egalitarian comes from French: Egal, egalite or egalitaire , which means the same, there is no difference.

The term egalitarian became famous during the French Revolution which resulted in the creation of the Declaration des droits de l'homme et du Citoyen (Statement of the Rights of Humans and Citizens) in 1789, with the motto: Liberte, Egalite, Fraternite (Independence, Equality, Brotherhood) which finally Human rights are enshrined in the French constitution.

So, Egalitarian leadership is a leader who believes that all humans are born with the same rights, so there is no big difference between one person and another.

Actually there are characteristics possessed by egalitarian leaders. Egalitarian leaders are leaders who are very humble, and never place themselves as high-ranking officials or elite groups that cannot be reached by their subordinates.

On the other hand, this egalitarian leader positions himself like the others he leads, or on a par with the general public.

Thus, although in essence this leader is able to give a very large role, he still does not want to be seen as too conspicuous.

With this kind of nature, it is not surprising that a leader with an egalitarian style also becomes a leader who is very loved by his subordinates.

In addition, every subordinate or community he leads will automatically do what he is assigned to do well, and without feeling forced.
