Authoritarian (Autocratic) Leadership Style

In the world of government, we often hear the term Authoritarian Leader. A leader who has always been an unexpected figure. It is often a frightening specter when there is a government for the people it leads. What is an authoritarian leader? What are the characteristics of an authoritarian leader?

According to the Big Indonesian Language Dictionary ( KBBI ), authoritarian is self-rule; arbitrary. According to the Indonesian Wikipedia , authoritarianism comes from the word authoritarianism, which is a form of social organization marked by the surrender of power. [1] In politics , an authoritarian government is one in which political power is concentrated in a leader . [2] Authoritarianism is also known as authoritarian politics , which is a form of government characterized by an emphasis on power only on the state . or a particular person, regardless of individual degrees of freedom . [1] 

It is explained from the site that the term authoritarianism comes from authoritarian English. The word authoritarian itself comes from the English authority, which is actually a derivative of the Latin word auctoritas. This word means influence, power, authority, authority. With this authority, people can influence the opinions, thoughts, ideas and behavior of people, both individually and in groups. Authoritarianism is an understanding or position of having authority, power, and authority, including a way of life and actions.

Authoritarianism is a form of social organization characterized by the transfer of power. This is different from individualism and democracy. In politics, an authoritarian government is a government in which political power is concentrated in a leader.

  1. Monoism is an ideology in which the leader rejects diversity of opinion, does not respect the opinions of others, and always imposes personal will.
  2. Considering that violence is commonplace, violence here can be in the form of physical violence or psychological violence, campus organizations rarely commit acts of physical violence and tend to attack members psychologically.
  3. Staying at the top is the goal, usually a leader like this will maintain his position, in order to dredge all the facilities given to him, use it for his personal interests and with various reasons to cover up his rot.
