Satisfy Before Fasting ???

In the past... When we were still in school, we often heard the phrase that became a joke for us and our friends every time we approached the month of Ramadan, namely "Satisfy Before Fasting".

This expression is aimed at the pattern or style of consuming food, meaning that we eat as much as we can while it is still not the month of Ramadan, because it cannot be done during the month of Ramadan later.

Even though it's just a joke, it's never even been implemented in such a way, but sometimes we unconsciously do it, even if it's on a small and personal level. Acts like this can have a bad impact, whether it is viewed from the side of worship or from the other side. For example, if we examine it from the point of view of health, it will result, among others, as follows:

Building Bad Habits

The body that we used to get used to consuming food and drink in high levels will adjust to these conditions. Whereas later when fasting, conditions during the day will be much different, let alone reducing levels, what happens is even eliminating levels of eating and drinking altogether.

Cause Body Shock

The body that was initially accustomed to high enough consumption suddenly did not get the intake as usual, or even none at all. This will cause shock and create a state of panic in our bodies. For those who happen to have unstable immunity, it will immediately go down and weaken.

Making the Body Situation Over Alert

Because changes in habits that are not planned and prepared, plus the shock that occurs, makes the body do sudden anticipation, and this is not good for our health.

And there are many other conditions that will occur on the first day of our fasting if the body is never conditioned to be ready for fasting.

Let's prepare ourselves physically, while there is still time. Minimum of a day or two of sunnah fasting, before entering the fast of Ramadan.

Happy Ramadhan 1443 H
