What is the Importance of Loyalty in a Leadership?
What kind of support is needed?
When we discuss the world of leadership, many
things will appear related to this world, one of which is "Support" in
launching a good leadership system.
Leadership is certainly a system led by a leader. The better the leader manages the system, the better the leadership will be.
When we talk about a system, then of course we will talk to many people, not just one person. Leadership will be formed with at least two main conditions, namely the existence of a leader and being led.
To create good conditions in a leadership, it
takes a leader who is skilled at managing many people, and to be able to
manage many people, a leader must be able to find people who really
want to fully support him. In other languages it is called Loyal, and its nature is called "Loyalty".
Well, a leader must be able to find people who
have high loyalty traits to be able to strongly support the system to be
built.
This Loyalty trait does not appear immediately,
but must be sought or must be engineered so that it emerges to the
surface. there are many
efforts that can be made by a leader to provoke this loyalty trait to
emerge and be utilized in a leadership, one of which is to create a
strong impression of a leader, so that people around him have strong
reasons to put their support on the leader.
Negative Impression
Along with the development of the world of
leadership, we hear many stories and history that some leaders create a
negative impression to raise loyalty from the people around them. These efforts are made to suppress and create fear, leaving people with no other choice but to provide support. The opposite attitude will lead to uncomfortable consequences.
This kind of impression is usually made by those
who have the power and ability to suppress the other party who certainly
doesn't have that ability, so the other party has no reason other than
to provide support.
The drawback of a system like this is that
support is only directed at the leader's personality, so the absence of a
leader will eliminate that support by itself. Even a temporary absence of a leader will weaken support.
Positive Impression
Experts in leadership science and great leaders
agree that this one impression is much more effective and powerful in
generating a Support and Loyalty to a leadership. Although the efforts made also varied. Some
are done non-material, some are using material, but the goal remains
the same, how to create a positive impression so that the choice of
support that appears is done voluntarily without any pressure. Even
if there are various options to provide support, support will be given
to leaders who have a positive impression, because a positive impression
will give birth to more lasting love, love and loyalty. Even if the leader is gone, either temporarily or permanently, support will continue to flow to the system he built.
The choice already exists from the various
examples that are already available, it's just the leader who needs to
continue to learn to improve his leadership quality.
